Warpaint, a sound you must hear!

      Some few months ago, I found a special band, one of them that have an odd sound, incredibles melodies and specials voices, this is my week's suggestion.


         Warpaint has grown on LA, in 2004, is being integrated by  Emily Kokal (main vocalist, guitar), Theresa Wayman (guitar, vocalist), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass, choirs) Stella Mozgawa (drums), are an experimental rock band, art rock or psycho rock that has two studio albums and their first EP's. It's a band to listen carefully, you must take your time for digest this musical approach. I have listened all their cds, as I used to do, I still discover amazing pieces that really shocks me, on a positive way of course, an unique sound, slowly, cozy lyrics, but dark ones, lovely music! 

               Their debut album Warpaint has amazed people, from the beginning of the record, you can easily keep in touch with this new atmosphere, clean sounds, odd guitars, the special bass and the characteristic psicodelia touch, and the distant voices that you might listen or as I do, construe a story per each song. Love is to die" was their first successful single for their last LP, what I had the pleasure of listen the first time. Songs like Drive, Go In, Hi, Biggy all a musical masterpieces for this new genre or new rock tendency.

           Nevertheless we couldn't miss their brilliant song "Undertown", or one of my favorites "Lissie's Heart Murmur" what a piano solo! Probably better than the originals!



           Despite I'm not a musician, I declare a sick lover, and this girls got me instantly!


           At last, this is my top five according my critique! Hope you love it!

                Ya hace unos meses me tope con una especial banda, de esas que tienen un sonido suculento, fascinantes melodías y voces especiales, aqui esta mi recomendación de la semana. Warpaint con inicios en el 2004 en la ciudad de LA, compuesto por Emily Kokal (vocalista principal, guitarra), Theresa Wayman (guitarra, vocalista), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bajo, coros) y Stella Mozgawa (batería) son una banda de rock experimental, art rock o rock psicodélico que cuentan con dos álbumes de estudios y sus primeros EP's. Pues es una banda para escucharla por partes, debes tomarte tu tiempo para poder asimilar esta grandiosa propuesta. He escuchado toda su discografía, como acostumbro, y sigo descubriendo piezas que me impresionan, es realmente un sonido bastante peculiar, lento, con letras acogedoras y sentimentales, pero oscuras. 


             Su album debut "Warpaint" es su ultimo LP, y vaya que ha sorprendido al público. Sin embargo no podríamos dejar de mencionar su joya musical "Undertown" o una de mis preferidas de ese album "Lissie's Heart Murmur" y vaya que solo de piano se gasta esta cancion! "Love is to Die" su primer exitoso sencillo, con cual tuve el placer de conocerlas es también de otro mundo. Y para no quejarse debo decir que he escuchado algunas sesiones en vivo por youtube, y si que suenan bien! Hasta mejor, diría. 

           Pues a pesar que no soy músico, me declaro amante de ella, y estas chicas californianas si que me han atrapado.
