Samsara, an eery alter ego

I was listening a radio show called "Un mundo perfecto" by Erika de La Vega and Ana María Simon. Someone was being interviewed, that someone was "Samsara" the musical project of Samantha Dagnino, and my unusual week's recommendation!

The lovely Samsara's voice was explaining her musical proposal and creative process of her new album, then, one of the songs started to play;  I was in shock, it was like a electric-psycho-rock plus a sexy voice, and on top of that she was singing on English.

Samantha D'agnino

"I was born in the underground world, I've been raised on a creative and free atmosphere, where I could develop me as an artist" Samsara for Five Tracks

Multi-Instrumentalist, songwriter, actress, venezuelan... Samantha D'agnino is a nifty girl, who manage very well the art industry. As a child she was involved in the media doing several ads for television; we need to say she is the son from Pablo D'agnino from "Sentimiento Muerto" and nowadays "Los Pixels". Then she started acting in several theatre plays, and participated on a variety show "El Club de los Tigritos", singing and dancing.  As a teenager explore the rock moves on "Tensa Calma". These are just public aspect of the artist that I could read in several pages, but my main goal is show you your musical style, so let's talk about, Samsara.

Play with Me

After listening the radio show, I got to my house and I research this particular woman, I downloaded the CD, and I instantly started to digest this album. "Play with me" is the musical proposal of aka Samsara, and her official first record.

"I wanted to make a record inspired in the marriage of electronic and organic elements" Samsara for 5 tracks

Play with me was written in New York City, the city that never sleeps. Samantha was studying acting in the Stella Adler Studio of Acting while she discover her new ego. New York help her to find her own voice, as she said in the record's thanks. The album was produced by Rudy Pagliuca, Trujillo, Ernesto Pantin and Lacsca

"LIKILILI" is the first track of the record, the soft and clean sound of this song is tremendous! Is the perfect song to start an album. The song sends you to a lounge but aggressive atmosphere, mixing powerful drums, synthesizers, and a magic voice, while you listen "Wake up honey, such a beautiful day". Samsara have said the tracks of the album are like the day's hours. And she's totally right. I must say I choose this name for the blog searching names in my music library, and touché I found it!

"Don't Mind" an insane line bass plus a an air hostess giving us a kind welcome, bus saying I don't give a f%%k, I just wanna get out of here! "Do you get it?"

"Some Somebody" here we go again with the lounge and guitar sounds, confessing the main interest, somebody to love. Her musical style, the lounge sound, remains me maybe to Kaskade on "How Long"  , It could easily just a sampler.

"Secret Lover" at this time listening the record, you can figure out how different sound from the first track. Pretty dyed in the Madonna's Erotica song. This will be probably the darkest song, the blow song, the close your eyes and imagine song.

"Dark Side" the simple clicks in the beginning of the song are so sticky; it adds a damaging wave of electronic rhythms . This will be probably the came out song; "Don't be scare if you have a dark side" it's so electronical and innovative, a jewel.

Samsara for DDA magazine

Samsara is revolutionizing the venezuelan musical tendencies,  keeping out her several talent and aptitudes performing, something that I could be witness in her official showcase at the BOD center in Caracas.

Finally I hope this girl could give us more of her musical overture; this is my week's top 5, and first venezuelan artist post, ENJOY!
